An illegal quarrying operation on state lands in Wallerfield, is shut down, following a joint operation carried out by police and officials of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries, a police statement says.
The operation, which involved officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force and officials from the Ministry of Energy, was conducted at Agua Santa Road, Block #5, Wallerfield, between 9:30 am on Wednesday 24th May, 2017 and 12:05 am today, Thursday 25th May, 2017.
A Wallerfield man is to appear before the Arima 1st Magistrates’ Court, charged with the murders of Stephen Tyrell and Kamau Charles, aka ‘Sap’.
Mikhail Mohammed, aka ‘Boxer’, 28, of Mexico Road, Wallerfield, was charged with the murders, after advice was received from the Director of Public Prosecutions, Roger Gaspard, SC, on Friday 14th April, 2017.
Four people were seriously injured as a car travelling at high speed at the Wallerfield racing course, smashed into a crowd of onlookers after going airborne.
The accident occured this afternoon during one of the final races of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championships.
Video of the accident uploaded online, shows one of the vehicles slamming into the barrier and running off the course at the Frankie Boodram Racing Facility, stopping some distance away from the crowd.

Police have shot and wounded a Wallerfield man who they suspect murdered another man earlier in the day.
Perry Williams was chopped to death on Moonan Road, Wallerfield, this morning and later died on his way to the Sangre Grande District Hospital.
However, Northen Division officers received information on the whereabouts of the suspect, who they later found hiding in some bushes still armed with the cutlass.
Officers say they called on the man to drop the weapon but say he instead attacked them, chopping one of the officers in the process.
