The Downtown Owners and Merchants Association (DOMA) says it is time to take back the country and the business group believes the use of the Defence Force can help.
DOMA believes the presence of members of the Defence Force still commands public respect and there is a desperate need for their visibility.
The business group says it is fed up of the rhetoric associated with crime fighting.
It says citizens want results, not the usual blame game and distraction.
DOMA says right now it seems as if criminals have taken over.
