A robbery at the Francis Fashion/Shoe Locker Princes Town branch was thwarted after a bandit was shot and killed early this morning.
Reports indicate that security officials responded to an alarm triggered at the premises.
Upon arrival, the officers observed signs of forced entry and they also observed several bags of merchandise which were left behind by the bandits.
The officers remained on the compound and shortly after the bandits returned for the loot but were met with gunfire.
One of the assailants was shot and killed.
Police are probing a break-in at the Courts Store at the corner of the St James Main Road and Long Circular Road in St James.
The break-in occurred sometime during the night.
The bandit or bandits broke the glass of the front door to gain entry to the establishment.
Several mobile phones, laptops and other electronic items were stolen.
