Tobago man among two held for possession of arms, ammunition

Two men were arrested and a revolver and one round of ammunition seized during an anti-crime exercise by officers of Point Fortin Police Station over the weekend.

Officers conducted the exercise around 11 am on Saturday, during which they proceeded to Pundit Street, Capde-Ville, where they observed three men seated on the steps of a dilapidated house.

Upon seeing the officers, the men ran off.

However, two of the suspects were subsequently held.

17-year-old held with pistol, ammunition

A 17-year-old was arrested and a pistol and a quantity of ammunition seized by officers of the Northern Division Area Central Task Force during an anti-crime exercise on Friday, a police statement said.

The exercise, conducted between 6 pm and 12 midnight in the Oropune district, was coordinated by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag.), McDonald Jacob and spearheaded by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Michael Daniel.

Acting on information, officers proceeded to Apartment #2, Oropune Circular, Oropune, where a search warrant was executed.

Police find 5.56 ammunition in Laventille

Officers of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) have discovered 15 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition after they responded to reports of loud explosions in the Laventille area last night.

IATF officers from the Duncan Street Post, were on mobile patrol at St. Paul Street, Laventille, when they responded to a report of loud explosions in the vicinity of Pleasance Terrance, Block 8, around 9:45 pm, on Thursday.

Five held transporting ammo, marijuana in Santa Flora

Five men were arrested and quantities of ammunition and marijuana seized, by officers of the Santa Flora Police Station during an anti-crime exercise in the district on Tuesday 9th January, 2018.

The exercise, coordinated by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Neville Adams and supervised by Sgt. Sheldon Ablacksingh, took place around between 6 pm and 10 pm, during which officers intercepted two motor vehicles; a white Nissan Tiida with one male occupant and a silver Toyota Axio with four male occupants, along the SS Erin Road.

Police seize close to 1,500 rounds of ammunition

In the largest arms and ammunition haul for the year thus far, officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force seized four firearms and 1,470 rounds of assorted ammunition, during an anti-crime exercise in Aranguez on Friday.

The exercise was spearheaded by Assistant Commissioner of Police (Ag.) Patsy Joseph, coordinated by Snr. Supt. (Ag.) Surrendra Sagramsingh and including Supt. Nazrudeen Pragg, ASP (Ag.) Michael Sooker and Insp. (Ag.) Simeon James.

Police find shotgun, camouflage clothing in Moruga

Police have discovered a shotgun, a cartridge and camouflage clothing during an anti-crime exercise in Moruga over the weekend.

Officers of the Moruga Police Station conducted the exercise between 6 am and 1 pm, on Sunday 31st, December, 2017, during which they proceeded to Edward Trace, Moruga, where they discovered a camp, approximately four miles into a forested area.

A search of the camp resulted in one 12-gauge shotgun, containing one 12-gauge cartridge and the camouflage clothing discovered hidden inside a latrine.

Police seize pistol and ammunition during anti-crime exercise

A pistol and ammunition stashed away in a mangrove swamp were dug up by police officers yesterday.

The discovery was made during an anti-crime exercise in the Oropouche area.

According to reports, officers of the Oropouche police station received a tip-off which led them to a mangrove swamp, just off Otaheite bay, South Oropouche.

The search resulted in one Smith and Wesson pistol along with five rounds of ammunition being discovered.

Police have recovered over 500 rounds of assorted ammunition and 6 firearms.

8 magazines and 1 silencer following an exercise in south Trinidad today.

Officers made the discovery at an abandoned structure located at Purcell St, Mt Moriah, Vistabella.

Investigators say the bullets are for a number of guns including 9mms, 5.56 guns, 380, and 12 gauge shotguns.

Officers also discovered 12.5 kilos of marijuana during a search of the premise
