A pistol was seized and two suspects arrested, after the vehicle in which they were travelling was intercepted by officers in the Port of Spain Division.
Police say the vehicle was identified as being involved in a drive-by shooting incident yesterday morning.
Officers of the Port of Spain Task Force, under the supervision of Insp. Randall McGuirk, intercepted a white Nissan AD motor vehicle with two male occupants, around 7 am on Sunday in the Sea Lots district.
The vehicle was reported to have been involved in a drive-by shooting incident along George Street, Port of Spain, around 5 am on the same date.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
A search of the vehicle resulted in a pistol loaded with an empty magazine being discovered.
The two suspects; a 27-year-old of Duncan Street, Port of Spain and a 26- year-old of Beetham Gardens, were arrested in connection with the find.
Investigations are ongoing.
