Lexi: 'The sacrifice was worth this feeling'

The top student in this year's SEA examinations, Lexi Bachan says words cannot describe how she feels to have topped the country.

12-year-old Balchan of the Point Fortin ASJA Primary School, was named top student by Education Minister Anthony Garcia at a ceremony at the school this morning.

She passed for Naparima Girls High School.

She told CNC3's Ivan Toolsie and Cindy Raghubar-Teekasingh that she was overwhelmed.

"Words can't describe just feel...like the hard work has been worth it and I sacrificed so much and now I feel so ecstatic. I just can't describe it," she said.

She scored 97 in Mathematics, 96 in English Language and 20 in Creative Writing.
