The law association of Trinidad and Tobago will know today, whether it can pursue legal action against Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley,

For his refusal to act on its report into misconduct allegations against the chief justice.

Lawyers representing the LATT will appear before Justice Vashiest Kokaram, who will hear their application for leave to pursue their lawsuit against Dr Keith Rowley

Justice Kokaram will have to determine whether the association has a valid case.

Last December, the Association submitted its report to the Prime Minister to trigger Section 137 and advise the President to appoint a Tribunal to probe the Chief Justice.

However, Dr Rowley said after receiving legal advice that he would not act on the report.

And only last week, the Prime Minister said he was unperturbed by the LATT's latest move, saying it would only serve as a further drain on taxpayers funds.

At the end of September, the membership of the Law Association of Trinidad and Tobago voted that the Association SHOULD launch judicial review proceedings to challenge the decision of the Honourable Prime Minister not to commence impeachment proceedings against the Honourable Chief Justice.
