RECIPE: Tropical and Spicy Mango Buffalo Wings

Tropical and Spicy Mango Buffalo Wings
 
These spicy mango buffalo wings will have you licking your fingers all through the World Cup. It’s perfectly balanced because of the sweetness from the mango and spiciness from the hot sauce. Coating every nook and cranny of the wings—you may just end up sucking on the chicken bone. Eat them alone or dunk it in a creamy blue cheese dressing for extra oomph! INGREDIENTS
 
For the wings:
2 pounds chicken wings, washed and cleaned
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
 
For the sauce:
½ cup butter
½ cup hot sauce
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 pinch granulated garlic
2 ripe Julie mangoes, peeled and pitted
Blue cheese dressing or crumbled blue cheese for serving
 
DIRECTIONS
 
1 Pat wings dry with a paper towel and add to mixing bowl.
 
Season wings with garlic powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Toss until evenly coated. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in fridge 30 minutes.
 
Blend Julie mangoes, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce and garlic until smooth.
 
Add butter and sauce to saucepan. Heat until it comes to a boil and then remove from heat.
Heat oil to 350°F or medium-high heat. Fry the chicken wings in batches until fully cooked, 10 minutes.
 
While wings are hot, place into bowl with mango buffalo sauce. Toss until fully coated.
 
Serve warm with crumbled blue cheese or  blue cheese dip on the side.
